Corn, I am so sorry. And stunned. I just learned this evening (October 27)of Cornelia's passing, by the most extraordinary, dare I say, mystical circumstances. I will write a personal memoir and post it here tomorrow. Until then, there's this, which I offer in memoriam: www. youtube.com/watch?v=eQ6h5lhFKYA&feature=related

I remember well the many years Cornelia and I ran the Residential Membership Committee at the Real Estate Board of New York. She was devoted to the organization and to the belief that residential brokers in New York City needed to come together working under the same set of rules and regulations for the benefit of the general public. She was a tireless worker, smart business woman and a delight to be with. I am only one person from the real estate community who will miss her greatly.

I'm so sorry you are gone, dear friend. It seems unbelievable that you will not be sitting next to me at the Opera this season. We enjoyed so many years of sharing those times together. No more burgers, no more cocktails and no more Landmark courses to share. Can it really be 32 years since we met? I was a brand new assistant and you the seasoned pro at the est Communication Workshop. Who knew this liberal Democrat and you a very active Republican would forge such a long lasting friendship. You are one of the most powerful, dynamic, funny, compassionate and supportive women I've ever known. I count you and your lovely daughter among the blessings in my life. I miss you and know that wherever you are, you are making a difference. Love you, Miss you.

Don't remember if it was through mutual friends or est [in many ways, the same thing] that my husband and I met Cornelia. A delightful beam of light and energy! She freely gave of her real estate expertise and resources when we decided to sell our apartments and move to CT. Her generosity and joyous laugh will always remain in the ether.

What a sad day when i heard the news. I wish Gordon was here to commiserate with me. Great job on the bio, Corn. Will see you in October if I read that correctly if not before. Boy, did we put on some events in the 70's and the 80's, and I got my real estate license in 1985 at Cornelia Netter Real Estate! Could that really be 26 years? She sure did speak out against injustices and she didn't pussyfoot either. I didn't have a chance to ask her about the mayor giving us advice about our salt intake and our Coca Cola intake but it would have been a wonderful discussion.
